Mongolia: The Batsuuri family of Ulaanbaatar
Food expenditure for one week: 41,985.85 togrogs or $40.02
Family recipe: Mutton dumplings
I have no connection to anything Mongolian (other than people accidentally clicking on this when they're searching for something else), but I do have a strange craving for some Mutton dumplings.
Nothing in this study is very shocking or ground breaking, but it is interesting. Something about the German family pisses me off though. What's with their smug looks and how many bottles and cartons of liquid do you really need? Luckily this expert Indiana resident has a blogger account and a critical knowledge of what you need and what you don't need.

The German family? They are alcoholics. Even the strange looking boy on the right. He is sad because they spend all their money on drinks so they can't afford to get him a haircut.

Yeah. And who is holding the strange boy? Mommy? Grandma? or is she the maid?
I see the old man is wearing a bell around his neck, perhaps to warn his wives when he goes to sneak a late night beer? Yes, he has two wives but you can see he favors the younger.
